About Us
Dr. Song has always been the earliest adopter of the latest dental technologies. When moving to Patriot Courtyards, Dr. Song incorporated the most advanced and innovative digital dental equipments to date. Dr. Song’s new office is completely digitalized from the film-less x-ray to electronic dental filing system. Dr. Song's office is equipped to adopt any and all new innovative dental solutions to deliver best possible care for all her patients.
Dr. Song’s latest acquisition of CEREC, CAD/CAM digital in-house tooth restoration system from Sirona is a tremendous success. With this cutting edge technology, Dr. Song can now provide a single appointment tooth restoration services like crowns, veneers and even the implants for all her patients. Unlike the traditional appointments that can take as many as 2-4 separate appointments, Dr. Song can scan, design, prep and mill a newly restored teeth in a single visit, eliminating the need for temporaries and delivering both convenient and cost sving treatment options for her patients. Dr. Joung Eun Song, D.D.S. graduated from Stephen T. Mather High
School in North side of Chicago and received her BS degree in
Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. From
there, she continued on to the University of Illinois College of
Dentistry and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. After graduating from the
dental school, Dr. Song worked mainly in Northbrook and Glenview
area.
On April of 1998, Dr. Song opened her first dental practice in
Glenview. Since then her practice grew and on February of 2007
moved her practice to its current location in Patriot Courtyards
on north Glen, just across from the Home Depot and Costco.
Dr. Song is committed in delivering the latest advanced technologies
in oral health care with utmost attention to detail. Dr. Song attends
numerous study clubs, seminars, dental conventions, lectures and
completes hundreds of Continuing Education courses to provide the best
possible care for her patients.
Dr. Song is married to her high school and college best friend
Chris Sim for over 17 years and
have two beautiful children, Dana and Ben. Chris is also her
technology specialist with his extensive background in Medical IT
Consulting and Telecommunication expertise.
Aside from being passionate about her dentistry, Dr. Song has another passion for short term mission trips. For the past 10+ years, Dr. Song, along with Chris, Dana and Ben, have participated and lead overseas short term mission trips to different countries. Her latest project is in Yucatan peninsula, where she leads 30 to 40 team members of various age group to run summer vacation bible school (VBS) for 1 week. While the journey is both exhausting and challenging, the rewards of seeing the smile on the faces of many children are most rewarding.
Irina Khnykin is doctor Song's personal assistant from the day she opened her practice in 1998. Irina is from Russia with her husband and two adorable daughters.
Upon arriving in America, Irina successfully completed the dental assistant program. Doctor Song is very happy to be with Irina and praises her highly for her hard work ethic and extraordinary care for patient needs. Irina is originally trained as a concert pianist back in Russia.
SueJean Kim has been
with Dr. Song since year 2000. Sue’s charming and warm personality
makes everyone feel welcomed.
With her keen attention to details and genuine concern for patient
needs, Sue is a key member of Dr. Song’s practice. Sue is responsible
for general operation of the office and all insurance filings
and billing processes.
CEREC is a latest dental restoration product by Sirona that allows Dr. Song to produce an in-house ceramic dental restoration using a highly accurate and flexible 3D virtual computer assisted modeling, using 3D photography and CAD/CAM. With CEREC, teeth can be restored in a single sitting with the patient, rather than the multiple sittings required with traditional techniques. Additionally, with the latest software and hardware releases, crowns, veneers, onlays and inlays can be all prepared in-house using different types of ceramic materials.

We want you to receive the best dental care possible and that is why Dr. Song invested in the latest technology in dental diagnostics, the Galileos® 3D Dental Conebeam. Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) allows 3-D visualization of the oral and maxillofacial complex from any plane. The 14 second scan offers a large volume for every display type – 3D, panorama, CEPH, and cross sectional (TSA) slices with smaller radiation than that produced by medical CT. The radiation is the equivalent of 4 bitewings.

Understanding the delicate nature of Implant Surgery, Dr. Song has incorporated guided implant surgical procedure for all her implant needs. Using 3D cone beam CT scanner (Galileos) to transfer image of the dental and soft tissue topography in and around the implant space into a 3D virtual image of a patient's jaw, Dr. Song can safely and accurately plan and create individually customized surgical guide that is specific to each implant case. This process eliminates the guessing game and significantly reduces room for error in all types of implant surgery. At this time, once a "scan stent" or implant design is submitted to SICAT, each individual surgical guide is produced in Germany and delivered directly to Dr. Song to complete the surgery. However, in the near future, with the advent of technology it will be soon possible for Dr. Song to mill the surgical guide directly from her office, saving time and money for her patients.
While traditional dentistry focuses on oral hygiene and prevention, cosmetic dentistry focuses on improving the appearance of an individual teeth, mouth and smile. By utilizing the latest restorative tools and techniques, a simple dental filing can have added aesthetic appearance to further enhance individual’s beautiful smile by eliminating any dark spots or discolorations. Together with KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching System, Dr. Song can further enhance the aesthetic appearence of a beautiful and healthy smile with greater consistency than any home based tooth whitening solutions can provide. From School exam report to a detailed examination of the oral cavity with full discussion of dental and oral development, diet, oral hygiene, and fluoride, Dr. Song will provide utmost care for your Child’s dental hygiene needs.
By incorporating VelScope, a non-invasive ‘white light’ exam process, Dr. Song can now routinely check for any possible signs of oral cancer cavity without the need for extensive surgical biopsy.
